After having the pleasure of playing Winscombe – home of the national champions – in a recent tournament, Kingsbridge under 13s girls were rightly nervous during training on Friday due to the physicality of the Somerset team and their ability on the pitch.

Winscombe came with 10 players for the game on Sunday, with Kingsbridge having 14 players in the squad proving the great numbers Kings have every week at training.

The game itself was hugely entertaining for the supporters due to the superb commitment and skills shown from both the teams.

The pace of the game was electric and was very tight until the finish, where Kingsbridge girls edged it by one try to the delight of the home support, with it excellent to see so many parents supporting the girls.

The skill progression of the Kingsbridge U13s girls this season has been truly amazing and the confidence of competing and winning against teams like Winscombe is invaluable to the girls development. The coaching and management team must be recognised but the full praise must go to the girls.

Kingsbridge play Teignmouth, at Teignmouth 2pm on Sunday, come along and support.
