Ivybridge Community College has issued a statement following yesterdays two incidents involving an injured student and an intruder. They said:

“We would like to notify you that the Air Ambulance landed on the main track area at the front of the College site earlier today to attend to an injured student as the result of an accident. Whilst the Air Ambulance was in attendance, we delayed breaktime and asked all students to remain in lessons for health and safety reasons.

“Thank you to all students who behaved in such a cooperative manner to enable the student to be taken off site safely.

“On a separate note, following an incident in the local town that was reported by Sixth Form students today, the matter was referred to the Police and they are now dealing with this accordingly.

“We would like to reassure parents/carers that these two incidents were not connected and our priority remains the health, safety and welfare of our students.”
