Police have launched an investigation after a woman in her 50s was sexually assaulted in Kingsbridge.
Officers sealed off the recreation ground on Embankment Road following reports of the attack.
Devon and Cornwall Police say it happened between 11.30pm on Wednesday and 1.30am on Thursday.
The victim is being supported by officers.
A force spokesperson said: “Police are investigating reports of a sexual assault in Kingsbridge.
“The incident was reported to have taken place between 11.30pm on Wednesday, January 22, and 1.30am Thursday, January 23, near the recreation ground.
“The victim, a woman in her 50s, is being supported by specialist officers.
“A scene guard remains in place on Thursday and inquiries are ongoing.”
