Ashburton 63 all out,

Ashburton (four points) lost to Kingsbridge (20) by 168 runs

Kingsbridge made the short trip to Ashburton as the only side to have lost to them this season.

The pitch looked green and uneven, but true to form De Silva won the toss and batted.

The absence of Westlake saw Dorey given his chance at the top of the order, but he perished early and Carr joined Ford as the pair built a foundation for the team with a partnership of 89 on what was proving to be a difficult pitch.

Carr again looked to be in good form before perishing to a dubious catch for 36. Ford was in good form looking particularly solid as he passed 50.

Badale joined Ford and the pair put on 60 before the lowish bounce took care of Badale for 22. Ford was looking tired and eventually perished for a well crafted 85 in the 38th over.

The remaining batsmen all contributed and with the help of 41 extras totalled 231 for 8.

Ashburton never looked like troubling Kingsbridge.

Peach and Rosewarne did the early damage with Peach hampered by a back injury that made him even slower than normal as they reduced the home side to 23 for 4. Carr chipped in with one and De Silva and Hardy took two apiece.

Only nine wickets were required, with Nicholls unable to bat having dislocated and broken his thumb wicketkeeping and watching on in plaster.

Ashburton were all out for 63 as Kings won again.
