Kingsbridge Town Bowling Club

President Pierre Verniquet delivered the ceremonial bowl to open the green for the club’s centenary season. This was followed by a roll-up and members were then treated to a glass of wine to celebrate the event. A lot of work has been carried out by members in the close season and the green is in fine condition as a result. The club has also invested in new equipment with the sponsorship money from local firms. Several events have been arranged for the centenary, starting with the gin and jazz night on May 6.

On Saturday, April 22, Town will host an open day at 2pm and anyone may come along to Eastern Backway to try the game. Bowls will be provided and all we ask is that flat shoes are worn. On April 29, the club will hold the ladies v gentlemen match which was resurrected last year. The ladies won this event last season so the men will be out for revenge.

Recently the club were presented with a cheque for £250 by Kingsbridge Estuary Rotary Club as sponsors for Town’s centenary season.
