A LOCAL man has raised more than £800 for the National Autistic Society as part of Autism Awareness Month.

Scott Miller from Strete decided to have his hair styled in a pink mohican haircut for the charity, as well as having a cake sale at Jewson in Kingsbridge where he works.

Scott’s youngest son, Matthew, 14, is autistic and Scott chose the colour pink as it is one of the colours of the National Autistic Society.

Scott had to prepare the night before by having his hair dyed pink, before the finishing touches were made last Saturday, April 16.

Scott said: ‘I’d like to thank all the customers and members of staff who supported me.

‘And also special thanks to my wife Dawn and Hyam for styling my hair.’If anyone would like to donate money to the National Autistic Society on behalf of Scott, there is a donation bucket at Jewson in Kingsbridge.
