It’s great having various events during the year in the town –?the food and music festival, Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas and, of course, fair week topped off with the carnival parade.

I enjoy all these activities and want to say thank you to all the organisers for their hard work. They bring the town together, in different ways, and there is a real sense of community.

Someone said: “I really look forward to fair week coming.” It’s good to have something to look forward to. What happens in between the highlights? What do you do to keep going, to get through the year or even just today?

You might have tried all kinds of ways and methods to do something about your life. They might work for a while but then you get in the way and you’re looking for another activity that’s going to sort your life out.

I’m going to be blunt, have you tried God?

Thirty six years ago, I was fed up, lost and wondering if the rest of my life was going to be same old same old. I read the gospels and knew for the first time ever that Jesus was real. He’s my best friend and Lord. That means we talk together and he helps me live a much deeper life. To be honest, life hasn’t changed much there are still bumps along the way, but Jesus is changing me.
