KINGSBRIDGE Police were called to a road traffic collision between California Cross and Kitterford Cross this afternoon.

The B3196 was closed while emergency services were on the scene.

An elderly woman driver crashed into the back of a Western Power van. She tried to avoid the collision, and in the process flipped her car over.

Initially, she was trapped in the vehicle, but was uninjured. She eventually managed to crawl out of the boot.

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Police confirmed that nobody was injured and the road was reopened shortly afterwards.
