Kingsbridge and Malborough United Football Club celebrated a record season on Friday evening with 180 players aged six to 16, the highest number since they were established in 1995.
By far the best night in the club's calendar, the presentation evening saw coaches tell of their team's highlights this season, award every player their season medal and hand out the three trophies - coach's most improved player, players' player and supporters' player of the year.
A new shield awarded this year was the DJ Foale Sporting Player of the Year, in memory of DJ's years playing for the club.
The players nominated from each squad were Tom Foale, Harvey Pike-Nash, Charlie Norton, Isaac Palmer-Hunter (who was presented with the shield), Liam Dyos, Dan Wallace, Charlie Bragg and Louis Platt.
Around 400 people attended, helping the club to raise £1,000 from the home-cooked food and barbecue for everyone, along with football skills challenges on the green.
In recent years the club has gone from strength to strength with numbers increasing year on year, a newly built clubhouse at the pitches in Malborough, professional coaching support from the Devon Football Association, local sponsorship and fundraising to provide major new equipment and kit.
