THIS Saturday, the Stanborough Chorus will be performing Mendelssohn’s ‘Elijah’ at St Edmunds church in Kingsbridge.

The work will feature guest soloists Heloise West (soprano), Rebecca Smith (contralto) and Leslie Baker (tenor).

The role of Elijah will be brought to life by Nicholas Merryweather (bass), a well-known singer in the area who has travelled from Paris for the concert. Irina Kosogova will be accompanying on piano.

A guest appearance by Jasper Clark as ‘the youth’ is eagerly awaited, following his performance in Plymouth.

The chorus is looking forward to performing this well-loved oratorio and hopes that the audience will enjoy the performance.

The chorus’ musical director is Christopher Fletcher.
