Kingsbridge Cancer Research UK group teamed up with Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewoods to host the ‘Call My Bluff’ antiques quiz evening.

Chris Hampton, Martin McIlory and Brian Goodison-Blanks from the Exeter based auctioneers, came armed with 10 antiques and works of art. They took turns to try and eloquently persuade the 100 people in the hall that they were each telling the truth about the different items.

Janet Cohen, chair of Kingsbridge Cancer Research group, said: “It was a fun, light-hearted evening and we are so grateful to those who came along and supported us. Our wonderful volunteers served a splendid supper, together with delicious ice cream donated by Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream.

“Chris Hampton and his colleagues were immensely entertaining and knowledgeable and we appreciate them giving up their time to help us. The event raised £1,342.05, which will go to continue helping future research into cancer.”

Auctioneer, Chris Hampton, said: “We are proud to support Cancer Research UK and all the good work that charity does. We are delighted that so much money was raised on the evening.”
