CHILLINGTON Health Centre recently ran a competition for local children from Stokenham Primary School to design a poster with the theme of ‘healthy living.’
The competition was held as a part of an open afternoon at Stokenham Parish Hall on Wednesday, October 7.
The event, organised by the health centre, its Patient Participation Group and the NHS South Devon and Torbay Clinical Commissioning Group, saw 60 pupils submit posters and which were then whittled down to a shortlist of 10 by a local artist and the CCG.
Four winning posters were then chosen by members of the public, before being sent back to the school for a special presentation last week with John Venmore, chair of the Patient Participation Group, Dr Mark Mordue from the health centre and the winning pupils.
Dr Mark Mordue said: ‘This was a great opportunity for Chillington Health Centre to engage with children in the local area and to reinforce the message of the need for exercise and healthy diet, which will stand them in good stead for the future.’
