Merry Go Round Preschool is thanking Sherford village for raising nearly £2,000 for them.

Sherford hosted a Race Night in aid of the preschool and a “whopping £1,900 was raised alongside some healthy competitive spirit, delicious food, drinks and some hilarious horse names”.

A spokesperson for Merry Go Round said that one of the many highlights of the year was the “very successful ‘coming home’ of its babies and toddler group, Merry Tots”.

Another big event was the much-anticipated move of its excellent Forest School to a “beautiful, private wood in Sherford”.

The representative said: “Many thanks to the generosity of Rob Peters for this space where the children can now have a full day on Thursdays from 9.30am to 3pm, of dedicated fun and learning in the natural world.”

Around Christmas time, the children went along to sing some Christmas classics and share the cookies they had made with the residents of Hyne Town House in Strete.

The spokesperson continued: “We are always so proud of how well behaved the children are when they go out and about in the community and this trip was no exception, everything was delightful.

“The preschool would not be where it is today if it wasn’t for the hard work, love and dedication of the team behind MGR, which is lead by Alison Pope.”
