On Sunday, May 21, in Loddiswell Village Hall, 49 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders came together to be invested into the world wide Scout family.

Due to an overwhelming demand for scouting in the Kingsbridge area, the 1st Loddiswell Scout Group reformed after a 20 Year absence.

Months of planning and various taster session for children and adults, saw the group successfully open, with camps, hikes and canoe trips already on the programme .

Heather Gulley, Group Scout Leader for Loddiswell 1st Scouts said: “The group would not of been possible without the support of the Loddiswell Parish Council, Nikki Curzon and Julia Bonell from South Hams District Scouts, Jean Marshall from Regional Scouting and the many local people who have volunteered their time and support to undertake the various leadership and support roles required.

“Thank you to everyone.”
