A CRASH on Hospital Hill in Kingsbridge closed the road for around two hours on Wednesday morning.

Three cars, a Vauxhall Corsa, an Audi TT and a Subaru Forester, were involved in a collision on Plymouth Road just before 9am and the road was reopened just before 11am.

Police said that one woman driver was treated for minor whiplash injuries, but the other occupants were unhurt. The crash coincided with a freak hailstorm that lasted no longer than a minute, but police were unwilling to speculate on the cause.

Sergeant Dave Green of Kingsbridge Police thanked drivers for their ‘patience and understanding’ while the road was closed, and stated the importance of driving to the road conditions and being aware of the possibility of unexpected weather conditions.

Kingsbridge Fire Service was also on scene.
