Police are investigating an assault and incidents of criminal damage in Kingsbridge on the evening of Wednesday 4 August.
Officers were called at 10.25 pm following reports of an altercation between two men in Mill Street.
One man was punched by the other man during the incident.
He did not sustain any serious injuries.
A wing mirror was kicked off a car in Lower Union Road around 10.30pm and the front doors of Boots the Chemist in Prince of Wales Road were also damaged. A pane of glass was smashed and other damage caused after the doors were kicked.
Officers attended and carried out an area search.
A man was detained in Fore Street a short time later.
A 22-year-old man from Kingsbridge has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and common assault.
He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
