MARTYN Scartfield may not have been amongst the prizes in October’s men’s stableford at Bigbury GC, but he still had a round to remember.
He hit the shot of the day on the third hole and achieved a hole-in-one, a pinnacle achievement in the golfing world.
Rob Perrins, playing off of a scratch handicap, led the way with a superb 39 points and was followed home in Division One by Simon Hill (36) and Pete Cooper (35).
Division Two was by John Cocks, who scored 35 points and was one ahead of John Gilbert, who himself had Dave Naylor one further point away.
Another stableford comp saw Dominic Hussell, who has recently rejoined the club, take the spoils on 39 points. Bob Brocklehurst and Rick Musson both had 38.
Meanwhile, the ladies’ greensome pairs stableford was also won with 39 points.
Mary Ayres and Juliet Manners combined well to prevail with Pip Fisher and Loretta Logie plus Janet Burton and Amanda Sinclair hot on their heels.
