Bigbury Golf Club
Weather conditions during November have not been conducive to good golf and many competitions have failed to materialise.
Most golfers and greenkeepers agree that the last month has been one of the wettest in memory, but it’s also been unusually mild and consequently the grass has continued to grow.
This has given a real headache to the keepers of our golf courses as ground conditions have been too soft to be able to get machinery out to cut.
In spite of this, the men at Bigbury braved the elements last Sunday, played a yellowsomes pairs stableford and produced some excellent scoring.
Top of the pile was the pair of Rick Musson and Richard Medlin, who brought in a fine total of 44 points to equal the earlier score of junior captain Adam Welton, partnered by another fast-improving player, Alan Maher.
The only other competitions taking place at the moment are the Winter League matches and this picture was taken of a group coming off the 18th green, just completing before sunset on one of the few days when the rain subsided.
The club is looking forward to the opening of its new club lounge this coming Saturday and the annual awards prize giving night.
