East Allington 0,

Buckland Athletic 2

ONCE again Allington had no luck against a Buckland side they had lost to by the same score only a few weeks ago.

Allington were making the most of the pressing as the visitors flooded their midfield, catching Allington on the break.

Josh Pascoe came close a couple of times, just failing to get on the end of crosses.

Tom Rowdon had a shot heading for the top corner well saved then the 'keeper saved with his legs to deny Ben Robey.

The visitors took the lead when Allington failed to clear the ball three times, leaving a striker to score from close range.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first, James Ivatt's shot striking the post initially then his goalbound shot coming off a defender's shoulder deflecting it wide.

The Buckland 'keeper then pulled off another good save, pushing the ball one-handed over the bar from a close-range header from Dan Bowles, Andy headed a good chance over the bar before a defender cleared.

With centre-back Neil Weeks limping from a challenge, the visitors broke through the middle to double their lead; at this point Weeks was subbed for Paul Tucker.

Allington tried to get back into the game but it wasn't their day. The match ball sponsor was the King of Prussia.

This week Allington are home to Ivybridge, 2.30pm kick-off.

The reserves travel to Bovey Tracey on bank holiday Monday for their Fred Hewings Cup final against Buckland Athletic thirds, 7.30pm kick-off.
