This year’s Thurlestone and South Milton Horticultural Show took place last weekend, with children’s entries up on last year.

The show took place at South Milton Village Hall on Saturday, August 5, with a new class ‘The Joy of My Garden’ being judged by the public and the return of the ‘Garden in a Seed Tray’ for the Under Fives and five- to seven-year-olds proving very popular.

Entries for the children’s classes were up on last year, with 31 exhibits, as were the entries for the flower arranging class.

Caroline Alderton, Thurlestone and South Milton Horticultural Society, said: “Although the weather just before the show had not been kind, the standard was as high as ever and it was good to see several new exhibitors in both the adult and children’s classes.”

Next year’s show will take place on Saturday, August 4, in Thurlestone’s Parish Hall.
