THE Coleridge Bus is looking for new volunteers to keep their vital service running.
The Coleridge Bus has been running since 1987 and brings passengers into Kingsbridge from outlying villages to the east of Kingsbridge, four days a week, all year round.
Creonne Baker, Coleridge Bus trustee, said: ’The service is for anyone to use and is a lifeline to many of our passengers, and it is vital to secure the future of The Coleridge Bus.
’Due to retirement and relocation we are very short of people to help keep the service running. All the drivers and coordinators are volunteers and nobody takes a wage.
’All donations go to maintaining the bus, training new drivers and keeping this valuable service going.’
The Coleridge Bus needs your help to continue. If you can help out for two hours a week, two hours a month or twice a year, they have a job you could do to help them out. I
It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 80, all they need is your time and willingness. If you have some expertise on computers and good organisation skills then you could be especially helpful to them.
If you think you could help, call 01548 511113 or 531451. The organisation’s AGM is on Monday, May 9, at Sherford Village Hall, at 7pm for 7.30, and if you are at all interested in finding out more ways you can help, go along. There will be refreshments and a bit of a social after the meeting.
