STOKENHAM Lunch Club celebrated the Queen’s birthday, and club member Clara’s, in style last week.

Their team of talented volunteers, led by Virginia Best, produced a delicious lunch of roast beef with all the trimmings, followed by Royal Trifle. A toast to the Queen was given before lunch and a Royal Quiz entertained diners.

The parish hall was beautifully decorated in red, white and blue, with flags and flowers on every table.

Coincidentally, one of the lunch club’s members, Clara Davies also celebrated her 90th birthday and, in their usual style, was presented with flowers and chocolates whilst we sang her Happy Birthday.

Each of the members was given a cupcake to take home.

Stokenham Lunch Club meets every Wednesday in term time at Stokenham Parish Hall and new members are always welcome. In addition, they always need volunteers to help with serving lunch, driving, etc on a rota basis.
