The RNLI collection box, stolen in broad daylight from outside the Lifeboat Station, Salcombe last month, has been replaced.

The new ‘spinner’ collection box is outside the Salcombe Lifeboat crew room on Union Street.

A member of the public found the stolen box, broken and empty, on the eastern foreshore of the estuary.

A photo was taken of the box on the Salcombe side opposite Charleton, although it has since disappeared again, taken by the tide.
