Power has now been restored to large areas of Plympton.

According to National Grid 1,676 properties in the Chaddlewood and St Maurice areas were affected by the outage.

It was reported just after midday and restored just before 1pm.

In a statement the National Grid said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience that was caused by the power cut.”
