THE Family Advice Support Team will be holding an open day at Horizons - the former youth service building in Kingsbridge - on Monday, February 15 from 11am to 4pm.

FAST - a community interest company based in Newton Abbot - took over the lease of the building in October, and will be marking their long-anticipated opening with a celebratory open day.

Despite already being host to a number of locals groups, including the Kingsbridge Food Bank and Credit Union, the open day is intended to promote awareness of the wide range of services and support available at the venue.

Company directors James Highet and Laura Underhill have also announced that after recent discussions with Kingsbridge Children’s Centre, the Horizons building will be hosting a number of children’s centre sessions from the spring.

James Highet said: ‘Having previously worked in children’s services with an emphasis on early intervention, I know how valuable our children’s centres are as a community resource.

‘And so helping them to retain their presence within the town, in spite of the centre’s forthcoming closure is great news indeed.’
