At 11.10am in Wrangaton on Mothering Sunday, a 20- to 30-year-old man picked a bunch of daffodils from a large display growing on the roadside verge opposite a row of terraced houses.

He returned to a red car and drove off towards Ivybridge.

I trust the recipient of the daffodils will be told they were stolen and that next year the thief will leave the whole ­display for everyone to enjoy.
