THE EIGHTH Malborough Monster Mash, held in memory of Dave Sharp, will showcase a diverse line-up of local musicians on Saturday, April 23.

The headline act this year will be Classic Rock Co, fronted by local blues rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Ray Minhinnett.

Minhinnett is a local legend, with an illustrious career that includes a stint playing with Alan Price from the Animals and Frankie Miller.

Minhinnett has also previously been nominated for a ‘best British blues guitarist’ award alongside Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore.

Other bands playing include Malavita - who will be playing Latin, reggae and funk music, and is fronted by Boo from the popular Kingsbridge band, Blue Orchid.

The Sheikhs will be playing alternative rock, with garage rock from Tinned Fruit and local favourites Bulletproof Future will also be performing.

The afternoon session, popular with families, will see young acoustic acts and a highly anticipated performance from Kingsbridge Community College’s Jazz Collective.

The Dave Sharp Young Musicians workshop band, who are supported by the Monster Mash, will also perform, and never fail to impress audiences.

There will be a licensed bar supported by St Austell brewery and catering this year will be provided by the ‘On the Green’ bus.

The festival will be raising money for St Luke’s Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Triangle Centre.

Doors open at 3pm, and tickets are available from Kingsbridge Information centre.
