The Hope Cove lifeboat is getting ready for the summer season.

After several years of hard work the boat was due a bit of love and attention and is now being recommissioned.

The work was carried out by Ribquest who undertook a major refit, replacing most of the wiring, and making several updates to the boat to improve it and make it safer in all conditions.

Crew member James Richards said: “Graham and the team have done an amazing job for us and their work means we now have a much enhanced lifeboat that will serve us well for the next few years.

“We’ve made a few important changes to the boat and the crew will be familiarising themselves with them as we train.”

It costs over £50,000 a year to run the lifeboat and they have to raise all the funds themselves.

James added: “ We’ve had fabulous support from the community over the years and are very grateful for all the support we receive.”
