The recent snow meant that a group of 26 pupils from Blackawton Primary School were in danger of being stranded at Totnes station when they arrived back from a trip to London.
I called the Seven Stars Hotel in Totnes which immediately offered to put them up, overnight if necessary.
This was a hugely supportive and generous offer, and we would like to put on record our thanks to all the staff there.
