SALCOMBE RNLI are holding a dinner and dance in a few weeks to raise funds for the charity and took allow them to keep saving lives at sea.

Held at Thurlestone Hotel on Friday, September 9, the ‘Glad Rags Ball’ is a black tie dinner dance with dancing to the four-piece band Secondnature, organised by the Friends of Salcombe Lifeboats.

Chris Hillaby, chairman, said: ‘We held a similar event two years ago, which was very successful, and we are hoping for the same again. It gives all those who have helped in raising funds during the summer months and members of the crew, a change to meet and enjoy themselves together with friends. ?‘We would also be delighted to see any members of the local community to help support the charity that saves lives at sea.’

Secondnature, who will be performing, are a four-piece band based in Totnes that cover well-known classic tracks from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and have been playing regular gigs in the South-West since 2009.

Showcasing the superb lead vocals of Lisa Royle; the band includes David Morris on guitar and vocals, Dave Waters on bass, and Martin Garside on drums. In their live set, you’ll hear songs from Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Thin Lizzy, The Pretenders, The Who and many more.
