Although I don’t actually live in Kingsbridge, I enjoy shopping there and regard it as my local ‘metropolis’.

The quayside is the town’s great asset and, as such, it needs to be treasured.

Once the harbour wall has been repaired, could not this leisure area be made more interesting with, say, a map of the estuary, pictures of birdlife, photographs of the bygone building era?

The bandstand should be used for its proper purpose, ie music played by a guitarist or flautist. Maybe the Salvation Army could be invited along – the possibilities are endless.

Also, more parking, not less, would attract more visitors and just maybe another cafe or icecream bar could be squeezed in.

Don’t, for Heaven’s sake, let us kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
