A team of South Hams lifeguards brought home a “haul” of national titles after competing in the SLSGB Inshore Rescue Boat Championships.
Bantham Surf Lifesaving Club brought six national titles from the championships in Exmouth back to the South Hams.
Representing Bantham were three teams - a ladies team, mens team and over 40s, all led and supported by Pete Lawrence.
Kate Doison led the ladies team, which also included sisters Emily and Rosie Lawrence. Together they took three of the four ladies titles in the single, tube and mass rescues.
Then, Kate and Pete, with their patient George Gibbs, won single and mass titles in the over 40s masters, totalling the golds to five.
The men’s teams consisted of Ali Williams, Alex Tucker, and Luke Lane, with their patients Nick Triggol and George Gibbs, who came a close second to bring home a silver in the men’s team final.
Bantham SLSC is also working hard to support teammate Kate, who has been asked to represent Great Britain at the World ILB Championships in Adelaide, Australia in November.
