SALCOMBE RNLI’s all-weather and inshore lifeboats took part in a training exercise with the Coastguard last week.

A new Coastguard helicopter flew up from Newquay in Cornwall for the exercise, which took place between Prawle Point and Start Point.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said: ‘It is important that our crews and the helicopter crew from Coastguard 924 regularly train together, as they will often find themselves working alongside each other for real out on a service call.’
