Roads Policing Team are conducting a forensic examination of the scene of a fatal suspected hit-and-run near Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

A 27-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle some 200 yards away from the entrance to BRNC.Police remained at the scene conducting forensic examinations and searches throughout the morning.

College Way was reopened at around lunchtime. The road closure had caused congestion through the centre of Dartmouth throughout the morning.

A police spokesman told the Chronicle: “There have been some inaccuracies in the reports of this incident. Your report is right."
