Police are appealing for witnesses after a car believed to be linked to a machete attack in Plymouth was abandoned in the South Hams.

On Monday, March, 5, at around 2.25pm, police were called to reports of an altercation on Billacombe Road, near the junction to Stanborough Road in Plymouth. At least one man was believed to armed with a machete??Armed units were sent to the scene where a man and a woman, both in their 20s, were found injured. The man had received a number of lacerations as a result of the incident. Both were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment. ??The suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle and abandoned it in the Ivybridge area. It is thought that they used a second vehicle to vacate the area.

Ivybridge and Rural Police posted a request for information on its Facebook page. They said four men were seen to jump a wall and get into a car which drove away at speed. The vehicle the men arrived in - believed to be a Ford - was dumped at Deer Park in Ivybridge.??Police enquiries are ongoing into this matter.??Anyone witnesses to this attack or the abandoned car,  is asked to contact 101 quoting crime reference CR/019275/18.
