POLICE are investigating a recent spate of break-ins in Chillington and are advising everyone to ensure their doors and windows are locked and alarms set.

Police have so far received reports of two burglaries to dwellings in the village while residents were out.

Sgt Dave Green said: ‘The break-ins included an untidy search of the properties but we are not sure yet what has been taken and whether there are any more break-ins yet to be discovered.

‘It is unusual to get dwelling burglaries in the outlying villages, but when there is, there is usually a collection.

‘We are urging people to make sure their doors and windows are securely locked and if you have an alarm, make sure they’re set.’
