Kind hearted Nicci Carrington and Emily Baldwin have set up a Gofund me page for their friend Carley Lamont and her family who lost their home and possessions in yesterday’s major fire between Modbury and Aveton Gifford.

At it’s height 10 crews fought the blaze which broke out shortly after midnight on February 16. The family were luckily unhurt but had to leave immediately. Investigations are continuing.

Nicci and Emily wrote: “the house has been destroyed along will all of their belongings including all of the cars, phones, clothes absolutely EVERYTHING!

Carley was in the house along with her father, husband, 4 year old daughter and pet dog who all managed to get out safely but left with only the clothes they were wearing. They have nothing and will be starting from scratch so we hope to be able to come together as a local community to support them in this devastating time.

All donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.

Please can we ask you to all share this on social media so it reaches as many people as possible who may like to help.”

As of 10am on Thursday the fund had reached almost £3,000.
