A CRASH involving a motorbike and a van closed the Sorley Cross junction as the rider was airlifted to Derriford.
The crash, which occurred just after 4.30pm on Monday, May 23, saw a biker travelling from Kingsbridge to Loddiswell direction hit mid-junction by a van travelling in the Churchstow to Totnes direction. The rider was left in the middle of the road.
The biker was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by the Devon Air Ambulance with suspected fractures but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening or life changing.
PC Dave Tungate, Kingsbridge Police, said: ‘The junction was completely closed for half an hour while the rider was airlifted, we then managed to get traffic moving from Loddiswell. Within an hour traffic was moving in all directions and the scene was completely clear within two hours.’
