FIREFIGHTERS from Kingsbridge and Salcombe stations were called to tackle a chimney fire in South Pool on Tuesday morning.

Upon their arrival they removed the heat source and then used a thermal image camera and equipment to rod the chimney and remove any remaining hot embers.

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Fire Station said: ‘We would like thank the generous occupiers who were lovely enough to give our crews some refreshments of sausage sandwiches. They were very tasty indeed.’
