Police are investigating "arson with intent to endanger life" after a car blaze under flats.

Emergency services were called to Crabshell Heights, Kingsbridge, at around 6pm.

Staff of the Crabshell Inn, opposite the scene, helped evacuate residents. There are no reported injuries.

Fire crews from Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Modbury, and Kingston attended the scene.

Kingsbridge Police posted: "We are now investigating an arson with intent to endanger life.

"If anyone has any information into this fire then please call 101 quoting Log 757."
