Plymstock U15s 0,

Kingsbridge U15s 22

It was a blustery and muddy day at Plymstock, but Kings were undeterred by conditions and keen to maintain their 100 per cent success rate this season.

The home side had the early advantage with the wind and slope in their favour, which meant they were in a strong position to apply some early pressure which Haydn Lidstone countered with some superb kicking.

After a spirited 10 minutes Kings forced a couple of attacks of their own with strong running from Sam Dod, Henry Phillips and Ed Carson.

Kings made good progress through the forwards thanks to good rucking from Lewis Sharam and Ollie Tucker, resulting in a well-deserved try for Elliot Vooght, nicely set up by James Banfield.

Kings were building in confidence and a few minutes later Kings (Elliot V) had another try in the bag.

A quiet 15 minutes followed and at half time the score was 10-0.

Kings were happy with the first half, although the score didn’t reflect their performance.

Due to the conditions, the second half saw both teams put it up their jumper and truck it up.

Strong runs from Max Bewley and Ben Wotton kept Kings in the Oaks’ half. which led to a well-deserved try from Finn Cottrell, beautifully converted by Sam Rhymes.

Frustration was getting the better of Plymstock, who found themselves with only 14 men on the field for the last 10 minutes.

Kings stayed on task and bagged another try through a driving maul from the line-out, fantastically caught and driven by Jordan Harvey, Josh Ball and Seb Tooke.

Kings could have secured a more convincing victory, but in spite of great running from Ethan Charlton and Toby Churcher they couldn’t quite cross the paint.

With a pitch that resembled an ice-rink by full-time, the Blue and Whites were satisfied with the final score 22-0.
