There was a full entry for the very popular Bryan Brown Mixed Doubles Cup, which was first played at Thurlestone in the 1930s.

The grass courts which are still dry and hard from the fabulous sunny weather produced some really excellent grass court tennis with plenty of stunning net play.

Winners from the four round robin groups went into the semi-finals where Archie Hill and Hannah Woodhead beat Tom Davies and Coco Martin by four games to one and Sasha Handover and Henry Lewis beat Giles and Isobel Barron by four games to two.

In a hard-hitting final Archie and Hannah outlasted Henry and Sasha by six games to two.

Chris Bryan Brown had previously sent his apologies that he was unable to be there to present the trophy, but Nick Woodhead was on hand to do the honours in front of a large appreciative crowd.
