Bigbury Golf Club

Rosemary Sharps does a great job every week reporting on the golfing exploits of the Bigbury members.

Well this week she is on the receiving end of the congratulations writes Nigel Blenkarne, as Rosemary is away on holiday.

She is far too modest to have written about her own success and while she is away we are delighted to report that Rosemary and husband Geoff Sharps clocked up a stunning victory to take first prize in the prestigious mixed foursomes event organised by the Devon Lady Veterans last month at Honiton.

The second edition of this competition attracted 72 players from 15 clubs throughout Devon and was played in glorious weather. Rosemary on her debut as a lady vet and Geoff collected trophies and vouchers for £50 each.

Two mixed events are held each year on the amateur seniors tour and now that they are qualified Rosemary and Geoff are looking forward to the 2016 season, where they are hoping to continue their great start.

The other big news from Bigbury is that the total interior clubhouse refurbishment is now in full swing.

These are very exciting times for the club and by the time of the prize night on Decem­ber 5 the new lounge and dining room looking stunning.
