The juniors were in action again last weekend as they claimed a win in the Tamar Cup semi-finals, 3-0 against Yelverton.
The format for this match was four ball better ball consisting of three teams of two from each club.
First match out was led by Thurlestone junior captain George Holland with his playing partner Charlie Evans, who were up against a seasoned Devon county player and his partner, who got 14 shots.
With a slightly nervous start and some great iron play by their opponents, they found themselves two down after 10 holes, only to then win the next two to bring the match back to all square.
This is how it remained until the 16th when they went one up.
A half on the 17th and a win on 18 meant their match was closed out with a two up victory.
George Messias and Finn Whelan were up next against more Devon county opposition, but managed to combine well as a pair and never go behind, to finally close their match out four and three on the 15th.
The final match was played by the pairing of Ethan Bellamy and Sammy Ingham, who played a really tight match against their opponents to finally win on the 17th two and one.
The final result, therefore, was 3-0 to Thurlestone which allowed them to progress to the final in October.
