Brixham AFC seconds 0,
East Allington 5
IN a tight first half that saw both sides have their chances, Allington got the breakthrough five minutes from the break.
A quality cross from?Josh Pascoe picked out Ben Robey, whose header was blocked, but he was first to react to fire home the loose ball.
Early in the second half Allington doubled their lead; Jack Massey cut in from the left to find his brother Fred on the right-hand edge of the box and his clinical finish rifled into the net.
The home side tried to respond but found no joy from the Allington back four, in particular the new central pairing of Neil Weeks and Dan Bowles standing firm.
Allington’s third goal was well worked, with good play between Andy Davis and Robey ending with Robey squaring the ball to Tom Rowdon, whose well struck side-foot shot flew into the top corner.
Matt Price was unlucky not to add to this, his crisp free kick coming back off the crossbar.
Soon after Jack Massey again got the better of his marker as he burst down the left, with his cross being turned into his own net by a home defender as Robey was about to pounce.
Price got a deserved fifth when he coolly picked his spot from just inside the box.
Allington should have had a penalty in the last minute when Robey was crudely brought down in the box, but despite stud marks down his shin and not being able to carry on, the referee failed to award a penalty.
This week the first team travel to Upton Athletic, 2.30pm kick off. Players meet 12.30pm.
