KINGSBRIDGE Young Farmers Club donated £4,500 to charity at their Annual General Meeting.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, October 4, saw the club donate £3,000 to the Kingsbridge Triangle Centre and £1,500 in aid of the Devon Young Farmers Club county head office after a busy year of fundraising.

Departing chairman, Richard Rossiter, and secretary, Kelly Wakeham, reported on the ‘tremendous efforts the officers and club members had made in all aspects of the movement, from fundraising to team events and competitions’ - with some members even competing at national level in Speaking and Stock Judging finals. ?Fundraising events including Easter Bingo, barn dances and charity drama performances were widely supported by all, resulting in a fantastic amount of money raised. Debbie Clift from the Triangle Centre in Kingsbridge was presented with a cheque for £3,000 and Will Dracup, Devon YFC representative, received £1,500 in aid of the new head office, which will act as a venue for many County competitions, and will soon be ready to move into.
