Seven members of the Norton Brook Medical Centre team braved the blustery weather as part of a charity walk to raise money for the ‘Friends of Norton Brook Medical Centre’.

The thirteen mile coastal walk from Gara Rock to Slapton was chosen for the challenge and the Friends would like to thank the Tower Inn and all their staff for feeding the walkers at the finish.

They are hoping to raise £300 to ensure that the people around the Kingsbridge area are able to get to their appointments at the Practice or South Hams Hospital. Otherwise, many residents would struggle to see their doctor.

The money will also help support and show recognition for all the volunteers that help Kingsbridge residents attend medical appointments.

So far, the Friends have raised £160 so any support to reach £300 would be gratefully received.

The medical centre covers the five mile radius around Kingsbridge, made up of nine GPs, three practice nurses, four HCAs and a phlebotomy team.

They offer a variety of clinics including influenza immunisation, diabetes and minor surgery as well many services for local residents including non-NHS Services.
