A PLANNING application to build four detached houses on the site of the Bay View Café and Warren Cottage in Bigbury-on-Sea is attracting significant opposition from both residents and visitors.

31 people have written to South Hams Council to object to the plans for four large two-storey detached houses that will dominate the skyline in the village - while others have complained that they have been unable use council’s planning website to comment on the application.

Mr and Mrs Scott from Bigbury said: ‘When we tried to view the plans there was an error on the website which prevented being able to view them. This error still exists. ‘There has been no notice put up on site, which we find very surprising and as far as aware none of the neighbours have not been consulted.

‘Until we are able to view the plans it is impossible to be able to provide any detailed comments. We would therefore request an extension to the period of time for comments to be made to this application having regard to the inadequate advertisement of the application and inability even now to be able to look at the plans other than presumably at the council’s offices in Totnes.’
