The Victoria Inn has once again triumphed as an “exceptional” food establishment in the South West.

At the recent Taste of the West awards, the traditional pub in Salcombe received two of the top prizes. Their excellent service and food were two qualities that helped them secure the Best South West Dining Pub Prize at the ceremony. However, even more impressively, the St Austell Brewery-owned Victoria Inn was awarded one of the highest prizes of the night - No.1 Place to Go in 2017.

Bringing out compliments from the judging panel: “It’s safe to say that this is a must in Salcombe! The quality and freshness of the ingredients and the cooking are simply exceptional.”

Run by the husband and wife partnership of Liz and Tim Hore for the last decade, the established pub and restaurant have worked exceedingly hard to reach this level. Liz commented on the night that: “Winning one award at the Taste of the West is reward enough for all the hard work our team puts in, but to pick up the Champions award as well is just amazing, especially considering the quality of all of the fantastic venues across the south west that we were competing against.”

John Sheaves, Taste of the West’s Chief Executive stated that: “The Victoria Inn’s food is exceptional and the service is first class.

“Liz and Tim have built great relationships with local suppliers and this is reflected in their menus.

“They ooze charm and attention to detail, yet it all looks effortless, smooth and relaxed.

“The whole team works together like a well-oiled machine and there’s a genuine passion for excellence-a superb representative of the South West.”
