SINGING is known to be good for you so why not come along to the open rehearsal of The Stanborough Chorus?

The choir will be opening their rehearsal session on Monday, May 23, at the Methodist Church in Kingsbridge, starting at 7.30.

‘We will be singing light music that will include pieces from “Les Miserables” and other well-known choruses’ said Stanborough Chrous chairman Elizabeth Bewley-Jones.

Stanborough Chorus have a very varied repertoire that includes well loved Oratorios such as Messiah and more modern music such as Karl Jenkins ‘The Armed Man’.

EBJ continued: ‘Christmas is always a delight with singing carols and the highlight of performing in Buckfast Abbey for the Primrose Foundation. This is your opportunity to try singing, or, if you are already a singer, to enjoy being in a choir.

‘Musical Director Christopher Fletcher puts the chorus through their paces with accuracy, lightened with his lively sense of humour. Irina Kosogova is their very talented accompanist and it is worth coming along to hear her playing the piano.

‘So, don’t be shy we will welcome you and there will be homemade cakes in the interval.’
